Every year, the Rose Float Project coordinates thousands of volunteers from Kiwanis clubs, Key Clubs, Circle K, AKTION Clubs, as well as friends from outside the Kiwanis world. EVERYONE OVER 13 IS WELCOME! In addition to the Kiwanis International float, our team of volunteers will be responsible for decorating up to 13 other floats in the Phoenix Decorating facility and for helping with materials preparation and floral waste cleanup.
We cannot express strongly enough … EVERY TASK IS IMPORTANT. Volunteers are placed according to the needs of the individual crew chiefs at any given time during the scheduled decorating days, so there is no guarantee of working on a particular float or doing a particular task. That being said, our team of site management volunteers will do our best to make sure that everyone who volunteers their time and energy for this project has a memorable and rewarding experience.
When you sign up for a particular shift, we are counting on you being there for the FULL SHIFT. If you need to request an exception to arrive late or leave early, it is IMPERATIVE that we know in advance so that you are not placed with a team that is counting on you being there for the full time allocated.
SPECIAL NOTE FOR GROUPS UTILIZING BUS TRANSPORTATION: California law requires professional drivers to take mandatory rest breaks that may impact how early your group must leave. If this affects your group, please contact your group ambassador IMMEDIATELY so that we can plan accordingly with the crew chiefs.
Posted Schedule for the 2026-27 Decorating Season – as of May 21, 2026 ADDITIONAL SLOTS COULD POTENTIALLY BE ADDED
Registration fees help offset the operating costs of the Rose Float Project. Due to the generous support of our club members and other donors, we are able to subsidize the registration fees on a case-by-case basis if it would create a financial hardship. Please contact us via e-mail: [email protected] to make arrangements.
*In order to create a more enjoyable volunteer decorating experience for everyone, this year we have reduced the number of slots available to avoid having more people than jobs. When the slots have been filled, there will be waitlists available, and if necessary, priority will be given to those who have paid their registration fee in advance.
