What We Do

Outreach to Clubs and DCMs

Throughout the year, we help spread the word about the Kiwanis International Rose Float Project by making presentations at district events and DCMs. If you would like to have a representative from our club appear to talk about our project and its importance to the KI community at large, please contact:

Fundraising to Build the Kiwanis International Float

Throughout the year, we work with the California-Nevada-Hawaii District Rose Float Committee to raise the funds to cover the construction costs of the Kiwanis International float that appears in the Tournament of Roses parade on New Year’s Day in Pasadena, CA. The iconic parade that has been running for over 100 years has had a Kiwanis presence since at least 1921 … and we are committed to keeping the mission of Kiwanis as a visible presence in the parade well into the future.

Our fundraising activities include merchandise sales throughout the year, particularly at the District and International educational conferences. We also produce several fundraising events and coordinate special opportunity drawings.

Coordination of the float construction project

In order to help offset the costs of creating the Kiwanis International float, we provide volunteer crews to help decorate many of the floats designed and built by Phoenix Decorating, including the Kiwanis float. This requires some coordination on a year-round basis, and the specifically scheduling and coordinating all of the volunteers, as well as the site management and feeding teams for our volunteers and the individual float construction crew chiefs.

We also coordinate the scheduling of the Kiwanis clubs that help provide and serve food to our teams of vounteers.
